As a qualified Craniofacial Plastic Surgeon Dr O’Mahony regularly treats pediatric Head and Face deformities such as Cleft lip and palate and congenital skull deformities. She also volunteers her expertise to work as a Surgeon with international charities such as Operation Smile in countries with limited facilities.
Dr O’Mahony has an extensive background in surgical research, gaining a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Cambridge (UK) for her research into the side effects of Breast Cancer treatment. She is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland Medical School, and regularly teaches trainee Plastic Surgeons, GPs, junior doctors, medical students, nurses and other health professionals.
